Pioneers | Outdoor Learning for Home Learners (Kindergarten–Grade 4) Pioneers is a nature-based learning program for home learners that brings academic concepts to life through hands-on exploration, inquiry, and meaningful outdoor experiences. Through math, science, literacy, and creative projects, children develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, confidence, and independence while building connections with one another and the natural world. Our days follow a flexible learning process of noticing, questioning, exploring, making, and documenting. Guided by children's curiosity and supported by intentional lessons, we create opportunities to investigate ideas, test theories, apply new skills, and reflect on discoveries. With a balance of structured learning and child-led exploration, Pioneers encourages children to take an active role in their education.
